Quoting Allahpundit of HotAir,
Has there been any sustained effort yet by any major news outlet to investigate that $150,000 hush-money offer that Jeremiah Wright claims he received from Obama buddy Eric Whitaker in 2008? Allegations of a big-money bribe made on a sitting president’s behalf used to be news in this country. Any takers?
I searched for “Wright Whitaker” on Bing News and found articles on the story by Big Hollywood, The Daily Caller, National Review, Fox News, the Washington Times, the Canada Free Press, and Newsbusters – all politically conservative leaning publications, with Fox News probably the most mainstream of the bunch. Where are the big news organizations of America? The Newsbusters article is pointedly titled “Was Rev. Wright Offered Hush Money? Nobody In The Media Cares”.
Meanwhile, you may have also heard that the Romney campaign’s iPhone App misspelled the word “America” – an embarrassing but completely unimportant mistake, telling us nothing about Romney’s character or how he would govern. All the same, a search for “Romney typo” on Bing News found articles by heavy hitters USA Today, UPI, ABC News, the New York Times, Politico, the Boston Globe, and a heap of lesser institutions.
I think it’s sad what they find – and what they don’t find – newsworthy. Perhaps, though, it’s also a reflection of what most of us care about – “Romney typo” was one of the most popular searches today according to the Bing homepage.
